Who Wore It Best: January 2014 Poll

The Royal Hats Blog

When two young, fashionable queens share the same hat designer, there are bound to be a few millinery repeats. One of the more interesting repeated designs we have seen from Fabienne Delvigne is this velvet headpiece- Queen Máxima wore it in grey while Queen Mathilde wore it in red. Who do you think wore it best?

The poll will remain open until midnight GMT on January 30, 2014 and we will celebrate the winner the next morning. You are again welcome to vote as many times as you wish.

  1. This looks rather attractive from the front. I think Maxima probably has it placed better, though Mathilde’s colour is lovely. But once you see the back, you think “Why…?!” It simply isn’t as nice a design as it would have been if it were solid.

  2. It is an odd hat. Maxima wins it because of her neat hair and elegant earrings. Those red earrings ruin Mathilde’s look for me.

  3. From the front view, Maxima wins. Mathilde has it placed a bit too far back. But from the back, I agree with Barbara. I really don’t care for this hat at all. The open hole makes it look like some sort of headband that was just pinned on top instead. Is it intended for some sort of updo to come through the gap? I really don’t understand this hat.
