Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in Scotland

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, who celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary today, paid a visit to RAF  Lossiemouth in Scotland. For this engagement, the Queen repeated her cream stylised bowler hat with lilac trim. While the tall crown of this hat seems a tad too tall, the soft textures of the tweed coat and wool hat really do look lovely on Her Majesty. Hats aside, these two still make a rather dashing pair, don’t they?

  1. I think Pharrel might like that hat! LOL.

Her Majesty looks wonderful. I like the colors, I like the style of hat, the only thing I don’t like is the puffy band. But, other than that, this outfit looks great on her.

    Congrats to the happy couple!

  2. Happy anniversary to HM and the DoE! They still look at each other with sparkle after 67 years, which makes me happy. I like this hat on HM, particularly paired with this coat. I LOVE the coat!

  3. She looks lovely. I so remember watching the new reels in the movies of both their wedding and then her coronation later on. Those wedding new reels ran for a good 4 years! i think I saw them get married 100 times over! We used to joke about ‘oh no, here they are again getting married!’

  4. As usual, HM looks spot-on perfect, and the duke’s picture was in my dictionary under the word “class.” Today, November 21st, should have been my parent’s 61th anniversary, but both of them died earlier this year. Long live your queen!

  5. Wonderful pictures. Nice coat. Beautiful fabric. Hat — not a favorite of mine. I suppose that AK took the puffed collar and used that inspiration for the stuffed band around the hat, but it’s too big for the hat, and the crown is too tall. In closeups the color of the hat looks nice with the coat, but from a distance the hat’s color looks out of place.
Light purple is one of the Queen’s standard colors. I suggest that a dresser run through the light purple hat storage room and find an old but still-in-style replacement.

  6. She looks wonderful, and so does the Duke. They always look like they enjoy being together. There is an extra sparkle to her when they are together, and they do make a very handsome couple. Angela Kelly has done an amazing job with her clothes and hats since she went to work at the palace. The Queen always looks so smart and polished.

  7. I love most of the hats the Queen wears but I have 2 observations. She always seems to wear long coats over her dresses even in the summer? I can understand now that it’s colder but It’s very rare to see her in a dress with a shorter jacket or even a suit. The other is her makeup, she looks good except for the white highlighter they use around her eyes. It doesn’t show all the time especially from a distance but when they get close up it really looks so weird. this one is not so bad but I have seen worse. Apart from that she is always dressed so well.

  8. She is amazing, 67 years together is a huge feat in life. I like everything about her, love the color and the hat is perfect, and I love that brooch. She looks so happy and content and full of life……….whatever she is doing to look this great, please bottle it and let us all have some.

  9. Nice. I saw a picture of the Queen wearing a coat close to the same colour and a perfect hat. It was almost a small stovepipe very sparkly and some feathers on the front. It was worn pulled forward. Looked so nice but now I cannot find it.
The Queen looks so happy in the pictures posted today. 67 years …wonderful.
