Diamond Jubilee Tour- Sydney

The Princes of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall continued their Diamond Jubilee tour today with visits to  The Victoria Barracks in Paddington and Garden Island Naval Base, both in Sydney. To combat the heat, Camilla wore a simple straw hat with upswept brim. It’s a wonderful, classic pie- the texture is lovely, as is the shape and the beautiful upturned brim. It’s the perfect hat to wear on a royal tour in tropical weather. Well done!

Diamond Jubilee Tour- Adelaide

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall continued their Diamond Jubilee Tour of Australia by cuddling koalas today at Government House in Adelaide. Camilla repeated a white straw hat with black hatband and arrow trimmed feathers that we’ve seen on her several times before. While I like the contrasting black trim and think Camilla carries the square shape well, the upsweep of the brim feels extreme and a little harsh.

Diamond Jubilee Tour- Melbourne

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are on a Diamond Jubilee tour this week to Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand. They began the Australian leg of the today today by attending the Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne. Camilla repeated a large hat with sweeping lattice brim. While I love the dramatic flair of this one, I think it overwhelms Camilla’s features and the shape is a little too odd for me to fall in love with it. It is however, perfect if you’re looking for a gigantic hat for a day at the races.

Countess of Wessex Visits Aldershot

The Countess of Wessex spent the day at Aldershot today where she, as Colonel in Chief, presented Afghanistan operational service medals to Army nurses from 22 Field Hospital, who have just returned from operations. She wore a vintage and military inspired deep purple bejewelled cocktail hat for the engagement- it’s not my favourite hat look for her but she wore it well.
