Princess Beatrix Opens Exhibition

Last Friday, Princess Beatrix visited the the Museum Oud Amelisweerd in Bunnik to open the exhibition, Armando in Het Woud (Armando in the Forest). For this event, she repeated this two tiered brimless straw hat in the loveliest shade of blue.

  1. On anyone else, this would be ridiculous, but Princess Beatrix rocks this look. I love seeing which hat she has chosen to wear!

  2. It’s an unusual outfit, to say the least. In the first picture, taken from a lower angle, what’s on Princess Beatrix’s head doesn’t even resemble a hat but rather a medical device, a hair dryer or perhaps a lampshade into which she has stuck her head. Nonetheless, it’s in character and makes her easily recognizable. Long live individuality.

  3. Even though they look a bit crazy, I love this style of hat. We don’t see it much anywhere else, so I’m glad Beatrix is still wearing them.

    • Yes. I like my royal personages to have their own unique style and not just succumb to the latest fad. Although Beatrix’s hats are often a little eccentric they are beautifully made and set her apart hat wise.
