Princess Beatrix attended a reunion of the Society of Engelandvaarders today in Hilversum. The Engelandvaarders were a group of young men and women who crossed to England by boat during the second world war and joined the Allies to help in the liberation of the Netherlands. For this reunion, Princess Beatrix repeated a sky blue straw hat with square crown upturned brim. I love the colour and the way the brim frames her face so beautifully, softening the graphic lines of this hat. It’s a beaut, isn’t it?

Princess Beatrix looks her absolute best in blue in my opinion. This outfit looks very elegant but also feminine, and the hat color and shape suit her very well. I would love to own this hat. She is a woman I admire very much for her fashion sense, hard work and fun-loving personality.
She does love a good hat!
That top photo–she looks like she’s up to something! 🙂
She is to be admired. Stunning compassionate sincere person. The senior royal fashion icon. Good example for the younger royals.
Magnificent outfit. Perfect once again.
Princess Beatrix always dresses beautifully – from top to toe always so elegantly and appropriately dressed.
Oh yes she certainly does look elegant. I really like this hat and color on her. I am so darn glad to see her still out and about and being with the people. She seems like such a gracious lady and I hope someday to go to the Netherlands and see her somewhere ….how thrilling would that be.
