It seems that contemporary times are not the only ones when cocktail hats trimmed in soaring feathers were at the height of fashion. I adore the similarities in millinery (across almost 7 decades) between this royal grandmother and granddaughter.

Both are beautiful. I wonder what HM’s would look like in a color photo. So classic and classy, each of them!
I love both hats and I’d wear both given the chance. I wish the Queen would wear more hats like this today instead of just her brimmed ones.
Love the vintage photo, Hat Queen! I’m imagining a retrospective featuring other feathered hats since I believe the Countess of Wessex and Princess Michael have a few. Perhaps during the slower hat-wearing months…
If you hold onto something long enough it comes back into fashion! I love both these hats and you can definitely see the Queen’s influence, or a genetic predisposition, in Zara’s hat choices!
The hat is more flattering to the Queen, but Zara’s feathers are more interesting.
Everything old is new again! Love it.
Incredibly cool!!!!
The Queen looks so nice.
