Interesting that both the King and the Princess Royal are known for maintaining items in the wardrobes but equally interesting that he is lauded for this, while Anne is often critiqued. Perhaps some of this being to men’s clothing being somewhat more timeless in design than women’s?
A mystery……
Anne’s headgear in the second photo is intriguing – a turban crossed with a beret? Is it actually one hat or two? Though when I tried for a second look, that photo has disappeared from the slide show. Maybe one of our sleuth’s could find it? Charles was wearing a fedora, followed by a very pregnant Anne in that interesting picture. A crowd scene. The two Royals look quite young (so possibly shortly before Nov. 5, 1977 Peter Phillip’s birthday).
Very interesting photos from over 40 years ago. Thank you.
The 2nd photo was taken at the Cheltenham Festival in 1981.

Great sleuthing, as always, Jimbo.
It’s a nice cap but the thing that struck me was how much Harry looks like him with the beard.

And….I was looking at Jimbo’s slide show not the original post. Mystery solved and picture returned.
Here it is in all its glowing colors!
