Love the bandeau hat and I do think it’s up to date, ie a little larger and a vibrant color. I just wish she had worn in back on her head just a little bit, it’s too far forward for my taste. Now about the dress, well, it’s definitely 1980’s “Little House on the Prairie” and I like the style but not the print on the fabric. And she was on such a good roll fashion-wise….sigh.
The headpiece is interesting and striking from the front but the proportions don’t work when viewed from the side – it’s too high and narrow.
I liked the design of the outfit from the photos showing the waist up – light, summery and well co-ordinated colour-wise – but, full length, it strays into nightdress territory.
I was hoping for something “more” as Princess Beatrice has been on fire style-wise lately. The pink is fun on her. I don’t mind the ’80s style, but if she wears ’80’s, please repurpose something from the Duchess of York’s closet. That would be so fun.
I don’t like this ensemble on Beatrice. Her bandeau I am not a fan of.
I don’t haaaate it but I don’t love it. The bandeau is the best thing about the outfit and I still want to skootch it back farther on her head and maybe decrease its size by 25%. But the color is really great on her; redheads CAN wear pink!
I like this look on Princess Beatrice. It’s young and pretty and suits her. Though not a fan of headbands, this one is a pretty colour and works well with the dress.
Looking at dresses this season there’s a definite 80’s vibe.
I think Beatrice looks summery with a splash of color on top. Since it has been 40 years since the ’80s, I think we’re going to have to accept the fact that 80s fashion is back and it is considered up-to-date when worn. I do like her substantial bandeau, but I wish she had worn it pushed back on her head a little more.
I like this bandeau, but that dress looked like it walked right out of the 1980s, and not in a good way. Overall an alright look, but not one I would consider truly Ascot.
I should’ve clarified better; I don’t mind the style of the dress (although it’s not my favorite), but that pattern is not good and reminds me of plastic table cloths I remember from growing up.
I don’t find anything about Beatrice’s ensemble that I like.
I haven’t been a fan of hairbands in the past, but they seem to be evolving now into something much more substantial, which I do like. This headpiece looks like a 1950’s style hat from the front and suits Beatrice very well. It’s a shame that with her ponytail, you can see the elastic at the back.
I’m not so fond of the dress, or the actual co-ordination of it with the hat. This dress should be worn with a cotton bonnet; I would rather Beatrice had worn something more structured to match the hat!
