King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the fourth day of racing at Royal Ascot last Friday.

Queen Camilla wore a new cream sinamay hat with sidesweeping brim trimmed with a black hatband, a black silk side knot and curving silk wired bow tails in black and white. It’s these swirling bow tails that give the most wonderful contrast and movement to the design.

Royal Hats 
Camilla has worn some stellar hats at Ascot, including two absolutely stunning new ones, that weren’t just on cream. Yes I wish she’d wear more saturated colours – it made me chuckle that the bookies are continuing to bet on HM’s hat colour; not such a long bet as it was with HM is it! But she’s wearing her big statement hats that we all love, so I’ll take it. Just hope she doesn’t revert to underwhelming perchers or even hatless for everything else as she has done lately…
Camilla has been hatless at a few engagements recently where QEII would undoubtedly have worn a hat, and indeed Camilla would previously have worn a hat had she been accompanying QEII on similar engagements. So I fear we are going to have rather fewer hat-wearing occasions going forward than we have been used to. However, in compensation, Camilla also pulls out the stops from time to time and wears really wonderful hats of a scale that not everyone can wear, so we can be grateful for that! This is one such hat, a great look on her, and a lovely design elevated by the thought that’s gone into the trim.

Look, a new hat in black and white, how exciting! Oh, she paired it with an all white outfit. Huh, well I like the hat, but I just wish she had more black in her outfit for more contrast and something different.
Even though the hat is Camilla’s go-to shape and is yet another white/cream hat in her collection, it is the trim that saves this one, especially that black organdie/silk loop sticking out on the side, which I think is fun! I suppose Camilla just likes to wear white and cream, and I guess I just need to get used to it.

A really beautiful hat. Definitely a hint of My Fair Lady about it.
When seeing Q Camilla’s hat I realized that there is a real *culture* of wearing hats that she is continuing in a spectacular way.
That’s one showstopper of a hat – Q Camilla just wears these Treacy creations so well – keep them coming!
