Christmas Eve with the Norwegian Royals

The Norwegian Royal Family were decidedly less formal with their Christmas millinery choices than their British royal cousins. On Christmas Eve, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Ingrid both turned up to church in warm knitted hats. I suspect these hats were chosen more for function than for appearance… but I think a woolen beret or cloche would have been preferable, especially paired with their lovely dress coats.

The 50th Ridderrenn skiing competition for the visually was held today in Beitostoelen, Norway. Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Martha-Louise cheered at the finish line; after the race, Haakon, Mette-Marit and their children Princess Ingrid and Prince Sverre Magnus skied over to a photocall. All dressed in warm ski hats, it looked like a lovely day was had by all.
