Yesterday, Princess Beatrix opened a new building at the Basic Foundation’s facility in Doorn (a training and aftercare center for active and post actively serving military personnel). She repeated her rose-brown straw hat with triple high-rolled brim and pyramid crown. The last photo hides the pyramid top and I think that is a much better look for this hat…. but I’m not going to complain. After Prince Friso’s memorial on the weekend, it’s just lovely to see Princess Beatrix looking so bright and well.

I so love Queen B, very much…this hat not so much at all. The color is great, yet the pointy part is not good. The young man in the picture handing her a rose, he seems so delighted to meet her, both their smiles says it all. Really glad to see her out talking to the people, she is well loved.
I cab’t imagine anyone else pulling off this style of hat but Princess B.
I’m happy to see her out and about and still performing royal duties that I don’t really care what she wears 😀 But yes, this hat would not work on anybody but Bea.
I love this hat. Princess Beatrix looks very beautiful here. I like this hat on her, but I agree with you that it would look better without the pyramid top. I also do not think I would like this hat on anyone else, but Princess Beatrix makes it work. It is good to see her out so soon after her son’s memorial and also I am glad to see she is recovering so well from her fall in which she suffered a broken cheekbone. That last picture is utterly charming.
This works on her. I like the color on her too esp for this time of the season.
