Princess Charlene of Monaco celebrates her 36th birthday today. Charlene has not worn many hats during her royal life- when she has, they have been simple hats with clean lines, minimal embellishment and fairly flat crowns. I would love to see Charlene experiment with millinery more, and have chosen this hat from Polish label Decolove for her (fittingly named the “Queen Hat”!). I think the small scale of this hat would suit Charlene well, and the soft embellishment would be a great contrast to the clean-lined clothing she chooses. I also think the softness of this hat would be beautiful on her.

I am surprised that most people here have chosen a small hat for Princess Charlene when most of the hats she has worn have been larger ones. Simple hats, yes, but still with larger brims.

I agree. Charlene doesn’t do fussy, frilly, flowered hats or clothes. Her aesthetic is modern and she wears it well. This Gina Foster would be fantastic on her.

Charlene is NOT bows and baubles. Her look is completely clean and modern. Almost austere. This Oscar de la Renta is perfect
A lot of the hats here are really modern. Charlene would be so pretty in something traditional and feminine with a large picture brim and a bit of 1920s style. Please also show the side view!

What a beautiful hat for Charlene. It reminded me of a similar hat by Emily London. The shape is a little more interesting but the flowers add softness you mentioned. It’s also a great color for Princess Charlene.

Princess Charlene’s clothes and hats have very clean lines. I think a hat with a lot of flowers and bows would not work for her. most of her clothes are so BORING. Wear grey, fine, but at least put a modern and interesting hat with it. Karen Morris would be a great designer for her.

This hat was made by Canadian designer Blair Nadeau . It’s a very interesting choice for Charlene- if we could get her into this, maybe that’s one step closer to braving wearing a tiara?!
