Children waved flags and cheered as the Queen arrived to open the new village hall at Thornham today. For this event, she repeated her cherry red felt hat trimmed with side bloom and curling bow (see the trims better in a photo the last time Her Majesty wore this hat). I think this is a good hat for Queen Elizabeth; while the shape is fairly simple (with an almost pork pie hat shaped crown), the style punch comes from the colour. I think it’s a great colour for the Queen. What do you think?

This hat has an odd indentation in the front (see here http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/xma0nZKNjHM/Queen+Elizabeth+II+Visits+RAF+Valley/KXok7kdqBSK). I would prefer it if it was smooth. Somehow, the shape just doesn’t look right.
Excellent hat — and entire outfit. This one has served her well.
love everything about this! if anything HM is looking better and better as she ages. And how darling is that little basket of flowers?
Red is fabulous on her!
She is simply radiant in red! Sometimes simple is best. She is so elegant and beautiful in these pictures.
You got that in one Rodney. Fabuous.
So true! And the beautiful red hat and coat are perfectly complimented by her gorgeous smile! She just gets more and more beautiful as she ages — I would die for her complexion!
Yes. Much improved style than many others and the color is marvelous!
I agree. It’s all about the color. She wears it so well.
You are right – this hat is a fabulous colour!
