Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended the Six Nations International rugby union match between Scotland and France at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh. Princess Charlene wore a casual plaid tam o’shanter hat to keep warm during the match. Lovely nod to the Scottish hosts of the match, don’t you think?

It is kind of cute. The main function of this hat was warmth. The hat did not match the rest of the outfit though.
epic fail!
IMO this headgear does not qualify for the category ‘beret’, i am sorry to disagree, hat queen.
the colours of this chequered nightcap neither match the coat nor the shawl. it’s shapeless flabbyness reminds me of a chef’s hat that forgot to take it’s viagra (the hat!!!, not the chef *grin*).
I suppose it is more of a tam o’shanter than a beret.
