Queen Máxima of The Netherlands marked the national week of Health and Welfare yesterday with a visit to a health care center in Etten-Leur. She repeated her a chocolate wool hat with sharply upturned brim and square crown. I like this hat paired with Máxima’s chocolate and cream hound’s tooth coat although the look is quite a wintery one (am I the only one desperate for spring?!). Her hair style looked great with this hat although I would have loved to see some small earrings to polish off the whole look. What do you think?

I just love it all. I’d love to have a houndstooth coat like that… Delicious. I like the 3/4 sleeves. And I enjoy her sophisticated up-do hairstyle with this hat. All in all… Wonderful.
My goodness, Gransgirl, your so right…………she looks lost without them. And regardless of the earrings, the hat is so very chic on her, the entire outfit is just wonderful! A very classy lady and queen!
Love the hat, and I always think she looks more elegant and polished with her hair up.
Love this! She had to have been rushing out the door to forget her earrings. Can’t imagine Max doing this intentionally.
You have a good eye! and when does Max NOT wear earrings? I’m surprised. But this hat works well for her.
I take some winter – I’m one of those folks in California where winter never came – we are ready to dry up and blow off the map! I’ve been in shorts and a T all winter so far and I don’t live in Southern California where you can often do that year round! I also like this hat on Max – not a huge fan of this large of hounds-tooth – but then I’ve always been one that shies away from large prints of any kind – I think they just increase one’s scale — that and I lived through the horrible days of too much paid in men’s wear in the late 60s and 70s – gads it pains me to look at photos and some movies/old TV at times. I just last night watched a replay of some edits of a Johnny Carson Tonight Show from the mid 70s and the 2 actors on that night plus Johnny, all sat there in competing large checked plaid sports jackets! It was painful to look at in HD!
