Queen Máxima had a busy day yesterday in Tiburg attending the final meeting of a Social Innovation conference at the University of Tilburg and visiting the Prins Heerlijk project at the elderly centre Het Laar. For these two engagements, she repeated the dark aubergine picture hat we first saw on her last November. I love the interesting brim shape of this hat- sharply upturned on one side and gently waved on the other- and think the colour is spectacular on Máxima. She paired this beautiful hat with a grape hounds tooth checked dress, a pairing I prefer to the teal dress we saw with this hat during its last outing. What do you think of this dramatic hat on Máxima?

the peep-toes are fa-bu-lous – just not with that still somehow ‘winterly’ outfit. i cannot imagine temperatures being high enough for sporting bare legs – not in the netherlands in march. so i assume maxima wore sheers.
the hat is marvellous, hope she keeps it for another season. wished she had broken the coat’s monotony with a belt.
her earrings are …. interesting …. :-). looks like statement jewellery to me. hmmm. why? she has a huge vault with expensive bling to pick from whatever she fancies. are these pink tulips or magnolia blossoms?
the overall impression however is good.
Interesting to see I am not the only one bothered by those open toes. Let’s focus on the top half of this look, it’s truly great!
This hat is fabulous from every angle. The matching bad and shoes are overkill, though. The hat should have been the star of the outfit. As others have said–what’s with the open toed shoes? Were her legs bare or is she wearing hose?
The houndstooth dress is actually brown, not grape colored. Here is a link: http://www.modekoninginmaxima.nl/mode-maxima-mode-algemeen/koningin-maxima-bij-bijeenkomst-social-innovation . Lovely outfit, except really too bad about the open toed shoes.
Interesting- the dress looks brown with a brown hat but takes on a purple hue with the purple hat. It must be a red-based brown to behave in such a chameleon way.
This is a great hat, and really complements the suit.
Love, love, love the hat and the color is so beautiful…she looks perfect except for open toed shoes! Dress and hat are great together.
Spectacular hat. Not crazy about the style of the bottom half of the dress or the style of the shoes, but the top half of the dress, the fabric and rest of accessories are excellent.
