British Royal Couple Visit Lloyds of London

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh wore wide smiles for today’s visit to Lloyds of London, insurers of the royal collection. The Queen repeated her pink wool felt hat with ostrich feather pouf. It’s a hat that has grown on me since we first saw it last Easter, partly because it compliments this Stewart Parvin designed coat (which looks just beautiful on Her Majesty) so well. I think the challenge of designing a royal hat is to create something that not only looks good on the head of it’s wearer, but also works well with the outfit it compliments. And this is something Rachel Trevor Morgan does so very well.

On a side note, Prince Philip was overheard asking if the royal collection was covered from damage from mice. Let’s hope there are no unwanted critters in the Queen’s hat closet…

  1. As said by another, if the pouf where to the side more, then this would be a hit for me………… overpowers the hat where it’s at and makes like she is having a hard time seeing what she is doing! I love the color of the hat and the style, just move the pouf back some!

  2. I think I would like the hat better with just the bow work. (without the white poof)
But the overall look is still good.

  3. This is the better of the two hats for this outfit. Neither hat is so spectacular as the coat, which is beautiful.

  4. I like this hat and agree it compliments the suit very well. I think I would prefer if the pouf on the hat were a little more to the side. It’s a bit too close to front-and-center for me.
