Queen Máxima Visits Cancer Charity

Queen Máxima visited the town of Alphen aan den Rijn yesterday afternoon to open a support center for cancer patients and their families. For this event, she chose a vibrant purple hat with angular lines. The diagonally sloped crown, small brim and minimal embellishment of this hat are a departure for Máxima- while I am not sure about the shape of this hat, I love the pop of colour it provided against her mushroom brown coat. Her outfit would have been bland and unmemorable without this hat which is why I’m going to declare this purple chapeau a great success. What do you think?

  1. I like this hat on Max. Always prefer in a hat with a brim, and a crown with some height. I was thinking it was a good height, unlike Maryanne. LOL.

  2. I like the color and the style of the hat, but I’m missing the hat’s connection to the outfit as a whole. The coat is dangerously plain, both in color and in style, as is what looks like a white dress underneath. I guess there’s some purple in the shoes and purse, but I do not think this hat makes this outfit pop.
Queen Máxima should wear the hat with something else.

  3. Absolutely love the colour and texture of this hat, although I think I’d prefer the proportions if there crown were just a centimetre or two less tall.

  4. She looks so cute in this hat! One of the reasons I think Queen Maxima looks so good in hats is that she has such an expressive face and such a beautiful smile.
