Queen Máxima attended a jubilee concert celebrating 15 years of Stichting Muziek in Huis (music for the elderly) yesterday in Huizen. While I’m not entirely sure this can be considered a headpiece, some of you might be interested to see that she repeated her large black hair bow. Last time we saw this bow (on Princess Beatrix’s last Queen’s Day), I thought it was a little twee for my taste but like many other unusual and unique pieces of millinery, it somehow worked on Máxima Yesterday, however, with her unkempt coiffe, it was simply another layer of mess. I don’t like to be critical but this was not a good look.

The bouquet of sweet peas looks beautiful. That’s all I have!
I don’t mind the wind blown look with her hair, but the bow looks a bit too floppy. It needs to be a bit more perky (without being too “little girl” bow).
She can look so elegant, and then, too many times, like THIS! Queen, indeed? Her hair so often ruins her entire look. Her biggest need I believe, is a full time hairdresser!
Entirely agree. This person needs to be hired now!
Yes! All one sees is messy, wind-swept hair. With no earrings and minimal make-up either, Máxima looks as though those just rolled out of bed. “Another layer of mess” is a perfect description.
It looked nice during the previous wearing. This wearing…I am going to button, zip, and lock my lips and throw away the key. Alright…I lied! Comb, Brush, Hairspray, Mirror…these should be on her shopping list. It looked as if the wind was blowing so I am going to give this beautiful Queen the benefit of the doubt today.
I hear you! Mantra for Maxima: Comb, Brush, Hairspray, Mirror!
