Queen Elizabeth Attends Windsor Horse Show

Queen Elizabeth joined King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa in the Royal Box at the Windsor Horse Show yesterday to watch the Services Team Jumping Event. For this visit to the fourth day of the horse show, the Queen repeated one of my favourite hats, this cornflower blue straw hat with square crown, raised brim on one side and spray of black and white feathers shaped to look like alstroemeria blossoms.  The vibrant colour and classic shape makes this such a winning hat for the Queen, don’t you think?

  1. The whole ensemble is very striking in the photos, imagine what it would have looked like in real life. At first I wondered about the colours in the flower feature, but of course it is picking up on the black in the fabric of the dress and together with Her Majesty’s bag and shoes, we have the whole package! Me like!

  2. It’s a beautiful hat and an excellent working outfit. I believe this outfit was worn several additional times during the diamond jubilee year.
(I believe too that the brooch is the Prince Albert’s Sapphire Brooch.)

  3. That last photo gives me the giggles – it looks as if the horse is about to nibble on the hat!! 🙂

  4. Love this colour on her, really like the hat – but it’s the brooch that really grabs my attention!
