The Danish Royal Family attended a concert last night celebrating Prince Henrik’s upcoming 80th birthday. With all the guests in cocktail attire, it’s probably not surprising that the only hat or headpiece in sight was this gold headband worn by Crown Princess Mary.
We don’t see that many royal headbands and this one looked great with Mary’s hairstyle and earrings. But who am I kidding…. I just wanted an excuse to post a photo of Princess Isabella, adorable in her sparkly shoes, party dress and curled hair.

Isabella looks wonderful – dressed up put not prissy and totally age appropriate!
I like the gold headband, as this was not a hat or tiara occasion, as it gives her a polished look. I don’t like the hemline of her dress, it looks like the dressmaker was drunk and cut it unevenly. Princess Isabella looks adorable and is the spitting image of her father.
Now we are covering royal headbands? This is NOT a hat. For the record, Princess Mary’s dress is atrocious.
Nobody ever said it is a hat… And since this is HatQueen’s blog she is surely allowed to make whatever exceptions she wish. Besides, she did give the reason for this hatless post: “But who am I kidding…. I just wanted an excuse to post a photo of Princess Isabella, adorable in her sparkly shoes, party dress and curled hair.”
Anyhow, back to the topic. I don’t mind the headband, it look’s nice witht the hairdo and with the dress. I like the dress in an artsy sort of way. Isabella’s dress strongly reminds me of these dresses, especially Ariane’s http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Princess+Catharina-Amalia/Inauguration+King+Willem+Alexander/WDqfkDAuSEd
