One of Princess Alexandra of Kent’s many roles is Deputy President of the British Red Cross Society. Today, this role included mingling with guests at a special garden party in honour of the society at Buckingham Palace. Princess Alexandra wore a sky blue straw hat with an asymmetrical brim upturned on one side, a side looped bow and a swath of tulle wrapped around the top fo the brim. It is a beautiful hat that looked simultaneously classic and modern- I absolutely adored it on Princess Alexandra and I suspect a number of you will as well!

Positively lovely! The hat shape is a big winner in my book as is this shade of blue.
I loved Princess Alexandra of Kent’s total look here. The sky blue straw hat is superb, with just the right amount of trimming and the upturned brim suits the shape of her face. The nehru collar is a nice touch on the matching coat, and the aquamarine and diamond brooch is gorgeous. it’s so nice to see Princess Alexandra out and about again after her recent serious illness due to Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and she is definitely one of the most elegant and hard working royals. Thanks for bringing this news on her to us as she tends to be ignored way too much by the Kate-obsessed media.
My favourite royal, she is the epitome of grace and elegance. I still remember her visit to Australia many years ago. It’s so nice to see her back working again after being ill. Princess Alexander looks wonderful in blue – it matches her eyes.
She is the epitome of a lady, wonderful hat.
Lovely, lovely hat! It is elegant, of a wonderful size, and just my perfect afternoon hat. I love it!
PA is my favourite Royal ever!
A very beautiful hat indeed! I like the colour since it’s not the “babyblue” but a very fresh light blue.
