Princess Benedikte of Denmark officially opened the 2014 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference yesterday in Copenhagen. For this engagement, she repeated her pale pink picture hat with pleated brim and crown woven in straw stripes. I am not partial to the wave shape of the brim but this remains a light and very pretty summer royal hat.

Royal Hats 
Well, I think she pulls it together with her pink pearls and pink blouse. Technically you all might be right about the suit material being too heavy for the light hat, but my immediate impression was ‘how pretty’. Also the bridesmaid comment … I see that now but I don’t think I would judge the hat by that kind of association. I guess I just like it on its own and with the outfit!
I wish I could see a full length photo of the outfit. Not sure the fabric of the hat and suit go together. I do like the hat and the movement or flow in the brim.

The wave is exactly what I like about this hat. That, and the rays extending out, make it seem as if she has a beautiful, loving aura around her head. Nice!

oh my… I didn’t initially see that but you’re right, this hat is such a 1970s bridesmaid hat!
And if I may be so bold… what, pray tell, is wrong with the 70s and their bridesmaid hats? I think they even made a tv show about that and it made a lot of money and some stars! Isn’t “everything” coming back? 😉
Like this hat a lot but I would say it needa a lighter colour and lighter material for the suit
