Danish Royal Couple Arrive in Sønderborg

On Saturday, Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik arrived in Sønderborg Harbour aboard the Danish royal yacht ‘Dannebrog’, en route to their summer residence at Gråsten Palace. For their arrival by sea, Prince Henrik donned a suitably nautical cap while Queen Margrethe repeated a red straw hat. The scale of this hat is really good on Margrethe and the square crown and square rolled brim makes it visually interesting. The embroidered ribbon daisy is a sweet and personal touch as well.  It’s a great hat for her, don’t you think?

  1. Queen Margrethe looks elegant and summery here, and I do like this hat shape on her. I think the all red accessories really make this outfit stand out, without going overboard (pardon the pun). I do like the fact that she knows what suits her and seems to be more adventurous with her clothes than some other royals, like British Queen Elizabeth.

  2. She looks very pretty. I like the proportion of the brim on her. It is hard for me to be impartial when it comes to her, since she is one of my hands down favorite royals.

I recently saw a photo of her on her wedding day. Thought she looked smashing on the day. Her style seems to have stayed fun and consistent all these years.

  3. Sorry about the dress, it’s a jacket and skirt, I love the print and color of the jacket, where can I buy that fabric for it would make a pretty summer dress.

  4. I like this hat, besides being the right color, the style is also very nice. I also like her dress, very pretty outfit for the day.
