Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik of Denmark arrived in Thyborøn, Western Jutland today for the first visit on the second leg of their annual summer cruise. The Queen repeated her well worn natural straw hat for this visit, adorned with a green band around the crown to match her suit jacket.

If you just happen to have a little extra jacket or dress fabric lying around, merely affixing a small band to the hat does give the outfit a semi couture look (although some would say “basse couture” perhaps). It’s hardly Queen Elizabeth’s everything-will-match, more-is-more haute couture, but then I imagine Queen Margrethe’s clothing budget is considerably less than Queen Elizabeth’s.
She clearly has favourite clothes which she feels comfy in, so that’s great. But I can’t help feeling these jacket with blouse ensembles she favours have a whiff of geography teacher about them. But I feel like a bitch for saying it, as she always looks so much fun!
I agree JamesB. I do think the green suits her well though.
Totally recognize that: I start to see her teeth but then I see her lovely smile and realize what’s more important!
Mmmm, bonus points for the effort of the matching green band but that’s about it.
Good for her.
