The Danish Royal Couple continued their visit to Croatia this week with native art exhibit and a tour of the Carlsberg factory in Koprivnica yesterday and visits to the archaeological complex of Salona and a Diocletian palace in Split today. Queen Margrethe wore her natural straw small-brimmed hat both days, as she is prone to do when traveling. Even with the changed fabric bands (obviously, to coordinate with each outfit), this hat does not excite me. Perhaps that’s because we have seen it so much?

I wish that Queen Margrethe would stop repeating her hats so much. This particular hat is ordinary, and does not lend itself to frequent reappearances with different hat bands. It remains boring.
I appreciate her frugality. Plus, come on, she can’t (and surely doesn’t want to) compete with the young royals in terms of fashion, so she wears what she likes. I admire that far more than running after every fashion trend.
OK she is trying to be frugal and it is executed well – but my how boooring!!
Recycling a hat, now that is just my cup of tea, way to go my lady…..
I’m just glad it wasn’t one of her frequent flyer sailor hats. I don’t think I really have seen a hat of hers that I like, but this one isn’t as bad as some of the others. Still, the frequent change of bands gives it a homemade vibe. I get that she doesn’t like to spend money on clothes and that she likes what she likes, but it would be nice to see something new that wasn’t straw.
This hat must be VERY dear to Queen Margarethe … that’s about all one can comment about it.
