Members of the Belgian Royal Family attended a Te Deum mass at the Saint Michael and Saint Gudula Cathedral in Brussels on Saturday. For this event, which was part of the King’s Feast, Princess Claire wore a gark grey wool hat with flat crown and downward curved brim. The shape of the hat looked wonderful on her and the combination of her grey hat and accessories with her retro orange coat was unexpected and rather fun.

Royal Hats 
Claire has always been my favorite Belgian royal, and her outfit here proves my love yet again. The orange is beautiful on her and the grey hat cuts down on the brightness of the coat without being too harsh of a contrast, say the way a black hat may be. Brava!
What a wonderful hat to pair with an orange coat. I think Princess Clair looks absolutely wonderful. But why isn’t anyone else wearing a hat?

Princess Claire looks wonderful in this hat. I love the style of her orange coat but it does look big on her. The other two women in the photo were not wearing hats, although they were very smartly dressed.
Princess Claire is one of my favorite royal hatters! I would never have thought of orange and gray together, but I love the way this works. I am a bit distracted by the baggy fit of the coat, however.

I really like her whole outfit, style colour …everything. I would love to wear it. I seldom say that as many of the hats are too fussy and difficult shapes but this works.
I love Princess Claire’s hat. The shape is wonderful and it looks really good on her. I also loved the Orange coat. It added a perfect pop of color to a late autumn day. Orange is a difficult color for most people to wear, but she looks lovely in it. Who are the other people in the picture? Is it Queen Paola, and Princess Astrid and her husband? They looked so cute in that picture, as though they were sharing a secret. Is Queen Paola still styled as a queen, or is she now a princess?
