On Sunday, Prince Masahito and Princess Hanako of Hitachi attended the opening ceremony of the 65th Chubu Region Ski Championships. For this event in Nanto City, Princess Hanko wore a black wool hat with square crown and rolled brim, trimmed with a trio of feathers on the side. Hanako’s hats are usually more interesting than other millinery worn by the Imperial ladies and this piece, paired with her smart pumpkin hued suit, made for an elegantly stylish ensemble. She is simply lovely! Princess Hanako is quickly becoming my favorite member of the Imperial Family. Her hats seem bolder and different from the rest of the family and distinguish her from them. She also carries herself with such elegance. Wonderful.
Prince Masahito and Princess Hanako of Hitachi look very elegant and dignified. I love the Princess’s hat, and it is quite a departure from the usual hats worn by the Imperial Family. The trio of feathers on the side was an interesting trim. Her orange suit worked well with her complexion and she positively glowed. Her jewels looked lovely and were perfect for this outfit too. Those high quality fashionable boots were the icing on the cake.

Princess Hanako looks elegant and classy and this hat suits her and compliments her outfit just perfectly. I love her boots! I don’t think I have ever seen a member of the Japanese Imperial family in fashion boots.
They are such a lovely couple that I feel uncomfortable saying anything negative. Princess Hanako’s complete outfit, from her hat, to her pearl necklace, the wonderful color of her suit, and her boots were terrific – but maybe for this past fall. The tonal colors of her suit are my favorite, but not for this time of year.
What a stylish couple. Quickly rising the ranks of my favorite royals. Always glad to see Hanako busting convention in her own subtle way.

I like this hat. It suits Prince Masahito perfectly. My problem is that the pumpkin and black reminds me of Halloween, so if the suit was a different color, or the hat was brown, to match the skirt trim on her suit, this could have been amazing.
