King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden commemorated the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz today with attendance at a memorial at Stockholm’s Grand Synagogue. Queen Silvia wore a simple black felt beret hat, placed at the back of her head in the style of a calot. King Carl Gustaf honoured the Jewish practice of wearing a kippah.

It was good to see King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz today and lending their support to ensure people don’t forget what happened. Queen Silvia’s black felt beret hat placed at the back of her head in the style of a calot, was very elegant and this style of hats suits her, especially with her thick hair. King Carl Gustaf made a kind gesture in honouring the Jewish practice of wearing a kippah. Well done royalty of Sweden!

I like Queen Silvia’s black felt beret hat, and her outfit. Kudos to the King for donning a kippah. They represented their countries well at this sombre event.
