Crown Princess Mary of Denmark celebrates her 43rd birthday today and I’m sure you all join me in wishing her our congratulations. As we do on royal birthdays this year, I have been thinking about which one of Mary’s past has I would like to repeated this year. While one of your five most favourite royal hats of 2014 was her beautiful purple pillbox, my pick is a different purple hat- this lilac straw picture hat with gently fluted brim. Trimmed with a removable spray of pale pink straw orchid petals, I think this Susanne Juul design makes for a perfect royal summer hat.

Royal Hats 
I have to commend this Princess for her excellent taste in clothes, hats and accessories. She always seems to pull off such a classy, elegant look. She does have a stylist though. Happy Birthday Princess! I love the brimmed hat in the main photo but I also like the hats posted by TiarasRUs, Fashionista, and JamesB. I could easily raid her entire wardrobe for myself!

I think this is a fabulous hat that i would love to see worn again by Crown Princess Mary.
Hats where the crown is a different colour than the brim often look odd to me but this one is really pretty, especially in combination with this pale sage silk dress and beautiful cream coat.
My family and I agree with TiarasRUs and HatQueen, and we think this is one of the Danish Crown Princess’s best hats. We hope to see it return.

This purple hat is way to cutesey for me. Mary’s millinery style has never read like she’s going to garden party except for this hat.
I love her tall Pilgrim picture hats without any trim like this sapphire one. When Mary adds cutesey trims to her hats, they just don’t work.

These are in the top 10 of my family’s choices for the Danish Crown Princess’ hats, and we would enjoy seeing them worn in future.
I like the first one better. I don’t know why someone buys 2 hats the same. Variety is the spice of life!
Happy Birthday to one of my favorite Princesses! I love this hat and the earrings and dress, and her makeup is flawless too. I also love her purple pillbox too. Crown Princess Mary is lucky that she can wear quite a range of hat shapes well. She looks her best in jewel colors especially purple, sapphire blue, and ruby red.
This is a nice hat isn’t it – much more Max than she normally goes for, and I like it. However I think my favourite Mary hat moment is the cream calot you did the ‘This or That’ on, but only she worn with the black and White floral dress – that was a stunning look on her!
JamesB do you mean the calot hat she wore when arriving on a trip to Poland with her husband, that has a spray of feathers on the side: it’s in this link. I thought that was a lovely hat, though i didn’t like it paired with the black and cream outfit she wore.

I see eye to eye with you and the others who have voted for this hat HatQueen. It makes Mary look incredibly young but still sophisticated and the dress is so elegant just like the hat.

This is a wonderful pick. I love this hat on Mary and would love to own a copy for myself. And may I just add how perfect Mary’s makeup is in this photo? Stylish and dewy at the same time. I wish I knew what foundation she uses.

This hat is the best, love the shape and the flower on the side and the up turned edge and the colors, there is nothing wrong with this hat, I would love to wear this hat to church and dinner, and I also love her purple pillbox, that one is very chic and she wears hats extremely well.
