  1. This Week’s Extras was a good read, as it usually is. Lady Gabriella’s vivid red fascinator was a bit too much at a wedding. People may have thought she wanted to upstage the bride. This was an unconventional wedding gown, and I wondered if it is part of a specific cultural dress that is worn in their region? It’s always good to see men in hats, and King Carl Gustav XV1 works his fedoras well. Those Launer bags are absolutely unbeatable for their craftsmanship. I have looked at them close up when on holidays in England. They are of course pricy! I am looking forward to reading the two books about the Queen described above.

    • If you look at what the bride was wearing, I don’t think there’s any chance of upstaging her! The other female attendants were dressed in similarly vibrant shades, leading one to surmise that such was the dress code.

  2. I like the top hat, it’s a bit Alice in Wonderland, very whimsical. Says a lot about the wearer! It looks like an unconventional wedding, certainly. I don’t think in this case the red fascinator is out of place, but it does look a bit like it’s wearing the lady and not the other way round.

  3. I vote “no” on the red fascinator. One should not try to be more noticeable than the bride at a wedding. On the topic of the wedding, I thought the unconventional wedding dress was beautiful, although I’m not so sure about the “top hat” on one of the guests!

    • I agree, beautiful gown!

Generally speaking, I totally agree with you about not upstaging the bride. In this case, though, it seems all the ladies in the photo are equally bright and most are holding matching flower bouquets. I wonder if they are meant to be attendants and this was (though unorthodox) the requested attire?
