
We’re continuing to narrow down the top royal hats of 2016 by choosing our favourites pieces every month. March saw five repeated hats stand out to you on the basis of your comments, dearest readers. These lovely pieces are shown here in the order that they were worn.

Queen Mathilde’s red pleated calot hat isn’t great but it’s the best of a rather sad bunch and so it got my vote.
Mathilde’s hats are lovely but that beret on Elizabeth is such an unusual shape from her.
I still love that fuschia hat with the red feather!
Oh my goodness. I am not overly fond of any of these hats so won’t vote. Sorry to be left out in the cold.
