With Trooping the Colour and Ascot just around the corner, several of you have suggested we take a minute to predict which of Queen Elizabeth’s hats will reappear at one of these high visibility events. Her Majesty might suprise us in a whole lineup of new pieces but based on previous years, I suspect there might be a few repeats in the mix. To help your predictions, jump over to this post to peek at all the hats she has worn for Trooping the Colour since 2000.
I’m going to get the guessing started with two pieces I hope we’ll see:
Lime green hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan worn to commemorate the D-Day Landings at Normandy, June 6, 2014
Pale yellow hat with grey trim by Angela Kelly worn on a state visit to Germany on June 26, 2015
Now it’s your turn- what hats would you like to see the Queen bring out again for Trooping the Colour or Ascot? If you had to create a lineup of six pieces for these events, what six pieces would you choose?

I see that more rarely worn hats have shown up. Good show, everyone! May I suggest one more, from 2009. As far as I know no part of this outfit has been repeated.

I recently discovered a photo of this hat, and of course I love it, especially since it’s in my favorite color! I’m less thrilled about this outfit however . . .
It’s an odd outfit. Worn in the Caribbean where it must have been beastly hot, it appears to consist of an unlined structure over a dress. All the Queen’s coats (and most of her dresses) are lined. For this arrival in Trinidad it must have been determined that the Queen could not appear in a short jacket or without a jacket/coat completely. So this thin green fabric (looks like parachute fabric) was found, and it looks as though the hat was created with the materials used in the rest of the outfit. I thought it might be re-worn on the Queen’s trip to the Arab Gulf in 2010, but it’s hardly suitable for the UK, I suppose. Nonetheless, I’m sure it’s taking up space in the closets of Buckingham and could be slightly modified for a new outing.
It looks like the coat is made of shimmer organza- not the best fabric for a coat but as you say, a choice obviously made for a hot climate. I’m OK if we don’t see this hat and outfit again!
So many nice choices. I couldn’t begin to make a whole lineup. But I am rooting for the pink swirl to reappear sometime.
It looks as though all the suitable repeats have been suggested! (And then some!) Several of the have been worn recently, however, and probably won’t be repeated this soon (although we’ve been on a string of repeats recently). Some are winter outfits, and some are simply too old, I suspect. I certainly hope that the D Day chartreuse and Germany yellow show up at Ascot. Those are my favorite two.
The only other possibilities not yet listed from the last two trips are these:

Both hats would stand out in a crowd (especially that unnecessary peacock feather — although the rest of the hat I find beautiful).
HQ, does it matter if one uses Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, when embedding photos? When I first submitted my six choices, the green and white one only showed up as a link, and now the wonderful yellow hat (below) that I selected before has disappeared!

TGIF!
School is out today!
Jimbo- the image change is my issue. I don’t edit comments but replaced your image links with ones from Getty Images as they include photographer credit and keep the blog copyright compliant. It was my error leaving out the yellow hat- my apologies.
Getty Images is the easiest (and most copyright compliant) way to embed images. Once you find the right photo on Getty, you can choose the ’embed’ option which gives you a choice of three sizes. The trick for searching Getty’s database is having the date the photo was taken- for the above photo, I searched “Queen Elizabeth May 08 2007”. It did not bring the exact image but a similar one. Of course, it’s difficult to know the exact date when a particular hat was worn so such a search might not be possible. That’s why I step in and try to help with the photo management.

Oh wow, I can’t stop looking at that lime green one–absolutely gorgeous! (as is the brooch)

Great suggestions! Here’s my lineup for a week of Ascot hats (adding in something new in blue I suppose):

I also always thought this Rachel Trevor Morgan design would be a cheeky (and very patriotic) choice for Trooping the Colour!

As Epsom starts today, I think this hat from Zara’s wedding would be a nice repeat for those races (http://cache1.asset-cache.net/gc/149205212-queen-elizabeth-ii-smiles-as-she-visit-cowes-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=GkZZ8bf5zL1ZiijUmxa7QWqxmC8IQk7BJSN7GamFBLuzCSrdwOibkWS0aupUm2Iv%2FrNYdlTRbV6m1iazFEydDg%3D%3D).
For Trooping the Colour, I think bringing back this yellow hat would be nice (http://www.windsorstar.com/cms/binary/3216298.jpg?size=640×420).
For Ascot:
Day 1: A new hat in magenta pink or crimson red, or alternatively for a repeat, this white and red hat from her Canadian visit (http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/replicate/EXID3122/images/Queen_E2.jpg).
Day 2: The return of this glorious black and lime hat from her 2008 Turkey visit (http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/britains-queen-elizabeth-ii-is-welcomed-by-turkeys-news-photo/81072409).
Day 3 (Ladies’ Day): A new hat in cobalt blue or cerulean.
Day 4: This white and pewter hat from her 2011 Irish state visit (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/77/87/6f/77876f7846e9972dfaf50aa03f57fbb0.jpg).
Day 5: This purple hat she wore on multiple occasions in the mid-to-late 2000s (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/64/f4/fc/64f4fcc4901706a03275e072a1d87442.jpg).
Sorry for all the long links!

Thanks @HatQueen! I’m never certain how to actually embed the photos so they appear in these comments.
No worries- I’m happy to add them. Embedding can be persnickety.
Jake, I was certain you would suggest this hat! Isn’t it one of your favourites?

It is one of my all-time favorites! But, as this one has already been repeated, I really want that black and lime one from Turkey to reappear, and I know HM would never wear two green hats at Ascot haha (although I can dream!).
Jake- here is another lime green design (maybe by Angela Kelly) that I think has only been worn once, back in 2007 for Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Uganda.

Yes! I randomly came across that one from Uganda while searching for a good photo of the Turkish delight (is that too much of a pun?). Another one that must be dug out of a hatbox for sure! And if they aren’t going to be brought back out, maybe they should be donated to some of HM’s loyal hat watchers? 😉
Well you want the same two as me! But I believe I may have said that already (Ad infinitum….)
So on top of that, I rather liked the white with the red carnation from last years Germany trip, the lampshade hat from her arrival in Paris and the turquoise from her Malta jaunt.
Not too much to offer surely! I’d be okay with a week of repeats, as there really are so many stunners I’d like to see out and about again.
Of course after Ascot there’s always Holyrood week, which does tend to be a week of repeats, so they may well pop up then too.

Sorry – I must learn how to embed pictures! The lampshade one from Paris was the White one with black and white trim, hit someone else has already gone there!
I think we’ll see some hats that haven’t been worn more than once or twice – hence my choices!
My apologies James- correction made!
My thought process is similar- I think any repeats we see will be ones that haven’t been worn much, and certainly not to Ascot before.
James- if memory serves me correctly, I think these designs have also only been worn once or twice.

To make my selections I have used the wonderful wall of hats in graduated colours that you HatQueen put together for HMs 90th birthday. In case I have counted incorrectly I have included a description of each hat. But
7. Pale pink with silk flower at front
15. Salmon pink with abstract flower & large swirled green bowl trim
45. Red straw with large petal silk rose trim
76. Teal green straw with green & blue silk flower, & feather trim
93. Pale blue straw with slim knotted bow
115. Turquoise from last years Malta trip
155.Cream with band of black edged patterned fabric
I selected hats that have in the past been paired with outfits I also like. As a beautiful hat makes a great outfit and visa versa!
Here they are, LadyJane:

Now- for the pale blue straw with knotted bow, which one of these were you referring to?!

Sorry HatQueen neither of those, the one she repeated for a garden party on 10 June 2014. I adore that complete outfit including the acquamarine deco clips.
The turquoise hat with pleats that she wore to Germany last year and the famous pink swirl!
