Princess Anne joined her brother and nephew on horseback for Trooping the Colour again this year, dressed as usual in her uniform as Colonel of the Blues and Royals with the wonderful red plumed hat hat of this regiment.

Autumn Phillips topped her green dress with a bright pink percher hat. With a teardrop shaped straw base, the design features a large straw ruffle, silk flower and curled ostrich quill. The hat gives a great hit of contrasting colour and I adore that Autumn resisted the temptation to put a necklace with the dress, leaving the hat to be the focal accessory. It’s colour blocking done masterfully well.

Previously Worn: this hat is new
Savannah and Isla Phillips also made their balcony debut this year (how lovely to see four of the Queen’s great grandchildren joining her!). I think their mum’s bright pink percher was smashing- what do you think of it?
Pink percher face-off! I prefer Kate’s, but Autumn’s is very nice indeed, especially paired with the green.
Prince William and Princess Anne must have been miserably hot. I’m always impressed by Anne, who wears her uniforms with such complete conviction.
I noticed something today that I’ve either never noticed before or never paid attention to before – the gorgeous hat that the Princess Royal wears in her role as a royal colonel. Especially in the third photo above notice the beauty of the silk plush that is covering the hat. I don’t know this as a fact but I’d venture to say this hat is made very similarly to top hats of the early 20th C. The silk on Princess Anne’s hat is really spectacular.
Autumn wins it for me; she looks amazing. This colour blocking is brilliantly done, both pieces are beautiful, together they are stunning.
I really like Autumn’s rose pink percher and feel it’s a BOLD statement especially when paired with a green dress. I’m dying to know what her shoes and purse looked like, but beggars can’t be choosers and I’ll take the fabulous hat and leave it at that! I am, however, missing Zara and was really looking forward to her hat selection. Maybe she’ll be at Ascot?
I agree with Jake. Autumn ‘s hat is my winner of the day! I love pink and green. It is so Spring-like! The close ups of the hat showed there was more to it than at first glance. I love the extra details!
Autumn’s dress seems more green than turquoise to me. I love how she paired the dress with a pink hat.
I think Autumn’s hat is winning as my favorite of the day so far! The magenta is perfect for her, and such a beautiful contrast to the jungle green dress. So exquisite! More of this please!
It is such a delight to see Prince Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince William on horseback, escorting the Queen at Trooping the Colour. Princess Anne, such a fine horsewoman, always looks magnificent in this role.
I like Autumn Phillips’ pink hat.
