For the second day of the races today, Princess Haya topped an oyster silk coat dress with waved black and white headpiece. In straw, the vertical black straw design is edged in a wide stripe of white straw and trimmed with a white silk rose under the raised brim and a cluster of feathers.

Sheikha Jalila continued her amazing debut of Ascot hats in a vertical white straw saucer with silk lily-of-the valley trim. Her father repeated his black silk top hat.

This is an elegant hat. The way the brim is angled and the flower that sits under the brim give it just enough added height to make it seem more like an Ascot hat. She is undoubtedly a beautiful and stylish woman to watch at this event!
Sheikha Jalila is a lucky girl to have all these fabulous toppers at such a young age. Her hat looks a little unbalanced, as though it’s not worn at quite the right angle. Love the lily-of-the-valley spray, which we don’t see very often. The dainty flowers are so appropriate for a young lady. Beautiful mother/daughter shot.
Thanks for posting the update, HatQueen. Did you sleep at all last night?
Thanks HQ for the update to the post; I had no idea Princess Haya’s hair was so long! and thanks Malluu for the link to other lovely pics.
Sheikha Jalila seems very relaxed in front of all the press – that pic above of her mirroring her father’s stance is a delight!
Her hat is pretty and age-appropriate, though I do think it would look better on her worn at a less vertical angle. One minor quibble – her hair needs to be professionally styled when she wears a dress hat; hair that is self-styled can too easily look unkempt, once a formal hat is put on.
Do you know who made Sheikha Jalila hat’s on the second day? Getty doesn’t seem to have any pictures of her but there are some in this article. http://emirateswoman.com/sheikha-al-jalila-is-totally-stealing-the-show-at-royal-ascot/
The post is updated above with this information and photos.
Haya has a certain style which I love, very understated.
I have always thought Princess Haya needs a good stylist. She’s a beautiful lady who is on the short side and sometimes her clothes and hat tend to swamp her. This coat dress looks very casual to me but I do love the hat! All the men standing behind her need help with their trousers!
Lovely!
I love the unique shape of this hat but wish I could see it better from the left side so I could see the flowers and feathers. The white stripe is a little off from the oyster dress but overall I’m very happy with her choices this year. More please!
Lovely!
Agree. This is wonderful and what we expect to see at Royal Ascot. Especially from Princess Haya.
Very unique shape! Like it! Needs a different dress to really set it off.
Very nice hat, very Ascot. The dress is maybe slightly too simple (not often we say that!). I always love seeing what Haya wears at this event and am not disappointed by this. BTW, if that’s her husband standing behind her he needs to have words to his tailor … the length of those trousers is ridiculous!
I like the hat but feel it needs a different dress to set it off. Just a black dress might set off the hat to better effect.
I’m underwhelmed by this whole look. The hat is nice and would probably elicit a more excited response from me if it was on someone else. But when Haya set the black and white standard in 2014, I think my expectations have probably been set too high ever since:

Jalila looks lovely once again with this disc headpiece. I especially love the photo Philip Treacy posted of Haya and Jalila.
She wears these high-drama pieces so well. I have a small quibble with the bright white of the hat with the oyster of the dress, but overall it’s stunning.
It’s reminiscent of “My Fair Lady”! Very nice
Gorgeous! I would love to see a more colorful dress, but this hat is fabulous. Reminds me a lot of the one Princess Madeleine wore to King Carl Gustav’s brthday celebrations (that was also Phillip Treacy design)
Applause for Princess Haya’s hat!
