Today’s outing marks the tenth public appearance of this hat in almost exactly four years, firmly cementing it as one of the queen’s favourites.

  1. Hmm, I’m wondering if she’ll put this hat out once more before the year is over? Even HM clearly has favorite pieces in her closet and won’t stop wearing them at anyone’s insistence haha.

  2. I know the household cavalry aren’t royal themselves but it would be nice to see their hats too – especially as I’ve recently made a set of hat blocks for their hats…

  3. This again?! I know we all have our favourites, but when you’ve got a wardrobe as jam packed as HM it’s a bit odd that this outfit should be repeated so, so many times. I’m not sure I can think of any others (why do I feel a feature coming on!!) that have been.

Mind you, my favourite coat has been coming out of the wardrobe for 15 years now. But then I don’t have anyone taking photos of me on a daily basis. Well, not that I’m aware of…

  4. OH, to be 91! When I Googled “perfection,” this ensemble emerged. The color, shape, size, balance, ALL registered at the top of my scale! Now will someone PLEASE comment on the double brooches?

    • From Her Majesty’s Jewel Vault says:
Household Cavalry Regimental Badges, one for the Life Guards and one for the Blues and Royals

  5. The hat and color are lovely, but I’m not crazy about the trim. It seems too airy for this substantial fall felt hat. IMO it would be more in place on a summer weight hat.
