During a day in West Sussex today, Queen Elizabeth visited Chichester Festival Theatre and Canine Partners charity. For this visit, she repeated her pale pink felt hat with slim wrapped hatband, side looped bow and ivory ostrich feather pouf.

We’ve seen this domed crown and short brimmed shape on Her Majesty a few times- it works well here with the feathers balancing out the high crown. I particularly like the layered hatband, a simple design feature that adds a surprising amount of movement and texture to the design. The hat is subtle but that’s exactly what was needed not to overpower the accompanying coat; the entire ensemble is delicately subtle (no small feat when using heavier winter materials like the felt and wool here) and that’s a big reason why it works so well.

Thoughts on this family hat’s repeated outing today?

The Queen looks marvelous. I like the hat and coat together very much.
The exuberant poof on the hat matches her cherry smile
BTW, is WordPress broken? I’ve haven’t gotten any email notifications for the past several posts.
HM must like this ensemble, since it’s already been worn this season, just 6 weeks ago! I think this wintry hat works much better than the spring-time alternative:

This is a fun hat and a lovely outfit. I happened to see photos of this visit online before you posted this, and wondered if the color choice for HM’s outfit was deliberately done to coordinate with the purple uniforms and signage of the canine charity. I know that appropriate colors are kept in mind with foreign visits or visitors, but does anyone know if this happens also with ordinary places? (If so, a lovely gesture — if not, a happy coincidence!)
Her Majesty with Labradors. I’m in heaven!
Still rather like this chic winter ensemble in springy colours. It flatters her well and the ball of fluff adds some fun. It’s served her well too, I hadn’t realised it was so well worn.
Her Majesty looks lovely in soft pick, and a dog never hurts! My only quibble is that the pompon on her hat looks awfully similar to her fluffy white hair. Perhaps it is intentional? the
That should be soft PINK.
