These photos are bittersweet – we never know what’s around the corner, do we? And Pierre has grown to look like his father. Caroline looks lovely at the baptism, though I do hear what GG is saying about the black. Albert, my goodness the years have changed him, but then again the years have also changed me 🙂 Pierre’s godmother is Laura Casiraghi, Stefano’s sister-in-law.
The indeed there is a real Renaissance look to this ensemble, but my minor quibble is the black colour for a baptism. Wouldn’t this be lovely in a rich jewel colour – ruby red or emerald green?
Patsy, it was a little hard on the eyes to verify this, since the photos were all black & white back then, but yes, I believe that you are correct about it being the same suit. I have saved photos from both events onto Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/matthew951/kennedys/. Seems kind of creepy in hindsight, IMO, but I imagine that at the time, she just grabbed the first available black suit.

Yes to the jewel colors!
Jackie Kennedy wore a black skirt suit for John Jr.’s baptism. I believe the suit was worn again at JFK’s funeral.

I really like the “renaissance” look of this hat – the matching coat and the dress are just right, as are the hairstyle and accessories. The rich formality of the black, the fur and the jewellery impress, without overstatement. Here’s a side view showing the cap-like crown: http://www.gettyimages.com.au/detail/news-photo/princess-caroline-of-monaco-and-her-husband-stefano-news-photo/618384108#princess-caroline-of-monaco-and-her-husband-stefano-casiraghi-pose-picture-id618384108
