  1. Yes, Glitter Girl said it perfectly — the rose color is incredibly flattering on her, and the hat is so exuberant, with the feathers all flying in the (assumed) light breeze, she looks happy and truly lovely! She had beautiful skin just like her sister; they were both blessed with complexions that most of us can only dream of having. This is one of the few feathery hats that I find incredibly flattering and still can be carried off to this day! (I wonder how many such hats Princess Anne has in her closet, waiting until at least 30 to 40 years have passed to bring them out again, as she so often does, and usually quite successfully?)

  2. What a frothy, frivolous, fabulous, feathery piece. Well done birds. Well done milliners. Well done Margaret Rose.

  3. The rare turban (and the rare feathered hat) from that period which looks remarkably attractive today. A beautiful hat in a beautiful color; suited the princess perfectly. (I would love to see the back!)

  4. I’ve not always a fan of Margaret’s sartorial choices, but she is radiant in this photo! Beautiful color, and this hat is very flattering in a way similar ones were not able to achieve.

  5. What a fabulous colour on her! The rose colour seems to make her blue eyes even more stunning. She was a truly beautiful woman.
