  1. Great new designs, HatQueen, and how fun to see the milliners like Hermione Harbutt discuss their inspiration. Her daughter makes a lovely model.

Old-school elegance in a surprising color with the Clothilde Toussaint.

The Christine Waring makes me think of the post featuring royal hats with pompoms. They weren’t all this sophisticated.

The paper hats are stunning! I don’t think I’ve seen anything like those quilled elements on Laura Hanlon’s — wonder how those would work on traditional hat trim materials.

  2. Those photos of Prince Louis are so cute! I’m glad the Duchess of Cambridge added the “after” photo of the mess he made 🙂

What a lovely group of hat creations this week!

    – The dusky pink straw button percher with veil and silk roses by Lisa Shaub would look great on CP Mette-Marit.
    – I like Queen Margrethe or Queen Maxima for the scarlet felt wide-brimmed sidesweep fedora with gold braided hatband from Jolana Kotabova
    – Princess Beatrice would look great in the black boater formed from vintage raffia, trimmed with metallic orchids and butterflies and curling quills from Love Lotus
    – Princess Isabella of Denmark for the hand-wired beaded bandeau headpiece from Hermione Harbutt
    – Any one of the royal ladies would look lovely in the classic cream picture hat with black hatband, bow and brim binding by Cassie MacGregor. My first thought is Beatrice Borromeo and Princess Beatrice.
    – I just love the colorful paper masterpieces by Laura Hanlon and Eloise Corr Danch.

    • Diane, I share your enthusiasm for this show and its hats! It’s up there with the Miss Fisher mysteries and Downton Abbey. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were a blog dedicated to TV hats?
