Favourite Repeated Royal Hat: June, July & August 2020

While we usually put forward a handful of favourite hats for polls, pandemic times call for rule changes so we’re going to face off most of the repeated hats we saw over the summer. The winner you choose here will move forward in our end-of-year contest for Favourite Repeated Royal Hat of 2020.

Please click on each caption link to jump to original feature posts with additional views, information and discussion on each hat. Here are the repeated royal hats we saw worn in  June, July and August, shown in the order they were worn:

1.     2.
Queen Elizabeth’s jade straw hat with twists and grey silk flowers by Rachel Trevor Morgan worn June 13
Queen Margrethe’s coral straw hat with navy hatband and bow by Mathilde Førster worn June 17
3.     4.
The Duchess of Cornwall’s ivory and navy straw picture hat with knotted trim by Philip Treacy worn June 18
The Duchess of Cornwall’s textured natural straw Philip Treacy hat with upswept brim worn July 15
5.      6.
Princess Beneditke’s picture hat in raspberry pink straw worn in Germany on July 31
Duchess of Cornwall’s oyster straw picture hat with large ostrich feather wrap by Philip Treacy worn August 15
This poll will remain open until next Thursday, October 29  at midnight GMT.  As usual for these polls, each computer or mobile device can vote twice per day for as many hats as you wish. Happy voting!

  1. My God – just see how few there are shows us what kind of a drought we’re having. I hope the royal milliners have been getting plenty of inspiration for 2021!

    • Maybe I should have included September… but organizing this yesterday, it felt better to plan September & October and November & December polls. I suspect we’ll see few hats as we move further toward winter.

      • Oh I agree – spread it out a bit! Things are starting to wake up ever so slightly so hopefully there might be a few more for those months?!
