In 1994, Queen Elizabeth visited Bermuda in March, Lancashire in July and Canada in August in this peacock blue straw hat with cutout brim and large white flower trim. It’s an interesting brim, this one!

Trickymum, I remember you telling of your Royal meeting . . . must have been a thrill! Are you are lady with the yellow hat?
I love the color and the unique brim of HM’s hat..
July 31, 1994: Sandrinham Church outing
Not me in the hat – I didn’t wear one, as I wasn’t important enough to be formally introduced to HM!
We were quite friendly with the school Matron, who filled us in on fascinating details about the security arrangements and other requirements to be carried out before and during HM’s visit.
That’s creative – you can tell her designers were trying to mix things up after a relatively staid few years, and this one is fun!
This is a lovely hat. Great colour for Queen Elizabeth again. The quirkiness of the brim adds to it’s appeal with the large flower trim picking up the polka dots on the pretty suit.
The first picture of the bottom sequence shows HM at Rossall school in Lancashire. My son was at the school then and this was the day I briefly “met” her. We exchanged smiles as she passed in a walkabout.
