Between 2008 and 2016, Queen Elizabeth wore this blue sinamay cloche with woven straw wrap around the crown and front bow to numerous events. The unique shape is another Angela Kelly design, made by Stella Mclaren.

It was never a favourite (even if it was of HM’s), but I didn’t have the strong reaction many had to this hat. The bow is a bit twee, and the crown a bit inflated, but there are worse…
Yes, this is a lovely mid blue colour for Queen Elizabeth. Again I’m not too keen on the shape and the bow just doesn’t gel for me with the hat fabric. I do like the mix of the sinamay and the woven straw wrap. And I like the hat more from the back.
Once again, the beautiful blue color is the best part of it for me. Even though the crown may be slightly top heavy, I generally like this hat. It’s not as cartoonish as the bright pink Hat #11. Notice that the bow is off-center by an inch. The photos of Philip helping HM down the steps is very sweet, and I’m not a softy.
I’m so sorry but this is not my cup of tea at all – I don’t like the way it tilts up at the front, the crown is so large and the bow is horrible. I do like the brim size on QEII. I normally like a shawl collar but not on this coat. The brooches are gorgeous.
