The first day of Royal Ascot saw several other royal and noteable guests:
Prince Philippos of Greece wore a black silk top hat. Princess Nina wore a white straw boater with wide brim, trimmed with stacked silk hatbands and a large tassel.

Milliner: ‘Escamilla’ by Emily London. Dress by Adam Lippes.
Previously Worn: This hat is new
The Duchess of Wellington wore a navy straw saucer with ostrich feather trim.
Queen Camilla’s daughter, Laura Lopes, wore a Philip Treacy hat from her mum’s closet, a black straw brimmed design with wide ostrich feather wrapped around the crown. Tom Parker-Bowles wore black top hat that I wish had a taller crown.

Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, wore a navy straw hugger with dotted veil and pinwheel feather trim. The sisters’ mutual friend, Lady Sarah Keswick, wore a wonderful wide brimmed white hat with teal trim and a stunning spray of blue and white lily-of-the-valley
That wraps up the first day of Royal Ascot. Which hats stood out most to you today?

Tassels are having a moment this year it seems! Nice to see Phillipos and Nina there
Lots of tassels on Emily London designs this year, but she’s been using them for a while.
After viewing Day 2’s outings, we can say the same about Zimmerman dresses! (Sophie on Garter Day and Beatrice today.)
Nice view of the Duchess of Wellington’s hatpins for those always curious about those!
I love seeing princess Nina and thought her dress and the boater were great except for the tassel which just read graduation-mortarboard to me.
Anabal Elliot in her hat she wore at Charles and Camilla’s wedding
Great catch!
Thanks. Dutchess of Welligton for the win.
For me, it was Zara for the win! She looked effortlessly cool: her hat had visual interest, her dress was elegant and her smile was glowing.
