Ascot 2024 Day 4: The King And Queen

King Charles and Queen Camilla led today’s royal carriage parade again, the king in his black silk top hat (and another pastel waistcoat!).

Queen Camilla wore another new wide brimmed hat, this one in palest seafoam green. This design is all about ostrich feathers, which completely encircle the hat’s crown, filling the full width of the brim.

The hat’s inherant drama is slightly tempered by it’s soft colour, which Camilla wears so well. The pairing of voluminous, textural hat and sleek dress and coat also are a fine match.

  1. The Queen’s hat looks amazing with the breeze blowing it and then it seemed to fall back down perfectly covering the brim on all sides! The hat and the Jardine Star made me happy today!

  2. Remember I said yesterday that ostrich feathers always seem heavy and wintery to me? Well I suppose Philip Treacy heard me LOL HMQ’s hat is a pastel summer confection. The feathers seem so much more fluffy here. And seeing Lady Sophie in one of the pictures, I guess it was Ostrich Day today 😀 HMK is looking fabulous in his pink waistcoat with his buttonhole, shirt pattern and pocket square picking up the hue but not being overly matching. The tie is a lovely counterpoint. He really could give a master class on pattern mixing!

  3. I love everything about both their outfits! The King is inspiring me to look into a gray morning suit. I already have a powder blue and yellow waistcoat so why not pink as well?

    The Queen’s hat is fabulous!
