King Carl Gustaf of Sweden opened the Skid-SM Umeå 2014 ski competition yesterday. The king, who is an avid ski enthusiast, donned a fur hat to presumably stay warm throughout the event.

Swedish Royals Skiing in Italy
The Swedish Monarchy Facebook page released a photo today of Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle skiing in northern Italy. As with all things related to Princess Estelle, the photo was just too adorable not to post.
The Swedish Royal Court also released news today that Crown Princess Victoria cracked her foot while skiing, poor dear. We wish her a speedy recovery in 2014!

Princess Estelle Receives a Christmas Tree
Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle accepted Christmas trees from forestry programme students from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences yesterday. While Princess Victoria did not wear a hat, Princess Estelle looked very festive in a red headband with tiny bloom to match her coat. Adorable!

Holiday Greetings from Haga Palace
And finally, on this Friday afternoon, the Swedish Royal Court released photos and video of our favourite little princess (sporting a festive red hair bow) preparing for Christmas at Haga Palace. Your Favourite Royal Hats of 2013
I so enjoyed hearing about your favourite royal hats of 2013! It was wonderful to look back at some of the lovely hats we have seen this year and hear the reasons why your favourites are your favourites. During the course of our discussion, ten hats emerged as the Favourite 10 Royal Hats of 2013 (click on each photo to link back to the original post for designer and photo credit information):
And the winning favourite, by a landslide, is Queen Mathilde of Belgium in the unforgettable pink hat designed by Fabienne Delvigne that she wore on the day she became queen.
Congratuations also go to Edouard Vermeulen of the fashion house NATAN for the beautiful dress Queen Mathilde wore. I think you’ll all agree that this would not be nearly as effective or beautiful without this particular dress.
