Another hat that could not be left out of this 70-day retrospective is the exquisite “Wedgwood Hat” first worn June 26, 2012 on a visit to Northern Ireland This upturned brim design covered in Wedgwood blue silk crepe and trimmed in a delicate lace hatband was designed by Angela Kelly and again, impeccably made by Ian Bennett and Stella Mclaren. It’s exquisite.

Queen Elizabeth wore this quirky shaped fuchsia straw hat with yellow trim brim binding and yellow and green stacked hatbands on July 3, 2010 in Canada and July 10, 2015 for the 75th Anniversary of The Battle of Britain in London. Designed by Angela Kelly, it was made by Stella Mclaren.

On October 9, 2009, Queen Elizabeth II attended a service of commemoration at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the end of combat operations in Iraq. She wore this black boater hat with black sinamay brim and fabric covered crown trimmed in black blossoms by Angela Kelly, made by Stella Mclaren, one of several in this shape added to her wardrobe a decade ago.
