Ascot Hats From the Past

Royal Hats twenty-two years back to the carriage procession into Royal Ascot on June 17, 1997. The late Princess Margaret wore a ruched toque hat overlaid in the same blue and white silk as her scarf while the Duchess of Gloucester sported some Puritan vibes in this peach straw hat with wide, flat brim and tall crown.

Hat From the Past

Royal Hats to a Faberge exhibition, held 68 years ago this month in London, attended by the late Princess Margaret. She is photographed here with the great Russian jeweller’s son, Eugene Faberge, examining a small jewelled box. Her hat, a conical design with short brim, bow and veil, is equally memorable.
