President Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates arrived in England today for a two-day state visit. For his official welcome, Queen Elizabeth wore a new hat in a textured ecru floral plaid, made in the same fabric as her coat. The sequin flower trim was very sweet and unlike anything we’ve seen her wear in recent memory.

This hat is so soft and pretty with the flowers. When I first saw it I couldn’t help but say “Aw” because the Queen looks so pretty and happy.
I was thinking the same thing. I could do without the slanted top but the rest of this hat is just beautiful.
I don’t like the top (it looks like a ski hill) but I love the sequin flowers on the side.
I also don’t like the slanted top. I like the flowers (they are very intricate and delicate) but I don’t think I like the plaid fabric on this hat. It looks too rough and bumpy.
This hat is truly beautiful – and it looks good enough to eat! This is a difficult material to work with and keep looking nice – it pills and picks easily.
So it looks like a cake to you? That’s not a good thing for a hat to look like
