The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence visited Liverpool today to attend a Service of Remembrance at the Liverpool Cathedral commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic. Before the service, Princess Anne placed a wreath at the British Merchant Navy Memorial at the Liverpool Pier. As Anne holds the rank of Rear Admiral as Chief Commandant for Women in the Royal Navy, she attended today’s events in uniform. As far as uniform hats go, this is a beaut, isn’t it?

Yes I agree with you HatQueen, Princess Anne looks great in uniform as she has kept her wonderful figure and the hat is a beaut. It is great to see the ‘other royals’ having space in the blogs. Thank you for your blog I love it! I discovered it a couple of weeks ago and now check it out every day because you update it continually and I don’t want to miss out on a thing.
Thanks so much, Tricia! I’m so glad you enjoy the blog. There’s going to be a busy month of hats in June and I have a wonderful hat surprise in store for all my dear readers this weekend.
The Princess Royal is ignored by the media but works very hard and has engagements almost every day. Thank you for including her here. I hope you will do this more in the future.
Whenever Princess Anne wears a hat, she will most certainly be included here! The trouble is that she does not often wear a hat for her daytime engagements. That’s a trend we’ve seen decline steadily over the past 20 years. I expect, however, we will see her in a hat for the 60th Anniversary of her mother’s coronation next week.
Bless Princess Anne and how she paid respects to fallen soldiers.
